Ray loves sharing his enthusiasm for politics, history, economics, philosophy, and geography with students. Originally from Sacramento, he earned his BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, completed a Special Diploma in Social Studies at St. Anne’s College, Oxford, and received his MS in History from Kellogg College, Oxford. He enjoys working with young people and guiding them through thoughtful discussion, often using the Socratic Method to challenge students to think critically. He believes economics is one of the most important subjects students can learn, as greater economic literacy benefits both individuals and society. Outside of school, he enjoys the outdoors, including hunting, shooting, and camping, and has a deep appreciation for 1980s music and movies.
