Mike is originally from Missouri, and he earned his BA in Liberal Studies with a focus in Mathematics from Cal State Hayward. Through his work teaching and coaching, he is committed to helping students grow not only in skill but also in character, confidence, and mindset.

Mike sees every moment—whether in the classroom or the gym—as an opportunity to challenge, encourage, and inspire students. As a coach, he emphasizes clear communication, strong expectations, and meaningful feedback to help players hold themselves and their teammates accountable. He believes athletics can unlock potential and teach life lessons about discipline, teamwork, and resilience that last far beyond high school. Mike especially enjoys hearing from alumni who reflect on their time as Dragons and the impact of their coaches and teams. Outside of school, he loves spending time with his family, especially his three grandsons.
