A proud fourth-generation Oaklander, Mary continues to call Oakland home. She began her education at Saint Theresa School in Oakland and attended Saint Ignatius College Prep before earning her BS in Biology from Purdue University and her MA in Education from Southern Methodist University. She started her career as a science teacher, where she developed a strong enthusiasm for educational technology and its potential to enhance learning. She believes O’Dowd is special because of its strong, diverse community that truly reflects the spirit of Oakland. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, hiking, reading, and spending time with her family, including her two energetic toddlers.
