Lauren teaches science with a focus on biology and a passion for hands-on learning. Originally from Bend, Oregon, she earned her BS in Zoology from Humboldt State University and her MA in Teaching Secondary Education from Oregon State University–Cascades. She became a teacher because she cares deeply about the future of our world and wants to inspire the next generation to think critically about science and their role in their communities. In her classroom, she emphasizes active scientific inquiry, encouraging students to learn by doing and to develop the curiosity and problem-solving skills needed to address the challenges of the future. Outside of school, she enjoys hiking, yoga, live music, gardening, crafting and jewelry making, skiing, and traveling.
