Having lived in New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Southern California, and San Luis Obispo while growing up, Kaylinda has called the Bay Area home since attending UC Berkeley as an undergraduate. She earned her BA in Peace and Conflict Studies with a concentration in Environmental Policy from UC Berkeley and her MA in Education from the University of the Pacific. She became a teacher out of a deep love for environmental science and a desire to share the joy, wonder, and serenity she finds in nature with her students. Inspired by O’Dowd’s Living Lab and its charism of Kinship with Creation, she feels grateful to work in a community that centers environmental stewardship and education. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, traveling to discover wildlife and beautiful beaches, dancing and baking with her toddler, and spending time in the sunshine.
