A San Leandro native and proud O’Dowd alumna, Betty is dedicated to uplifting and empowering students as they discern their passions and grow in their understanding of who they are. She earned her BS in Psychology and Spanish Studies, with a minor in Latin American and Religious Studies, from Santa Clara University, and her MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in School and Clinical Counseling from the University of San Francisco. She is also a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC). She believes deeply in the power of young people to create meaningful change and values O’Dowd’s strong alumni network and shared commitment to living out its charism. Outside of school, she enjoys praying, reading, cooking traditional Mexican food with her mom, hiking with her husband, strength training, and traveling (she's visited nearly every continent!), along with spending time with family and friends.
