Malcolm McClymont, a member of Troop 722 in Castro Valley, completed his board review and received the rank of Eagle Scout – the Boy Scouts of America’s highest rank – last October.
For his Eagle project, Malcolm constructed two owl boxes for the Hungry Owl Project, a non-profit organization in Novato. The purpose of the boxes is to provide shelter for present and future owls. Malcolm became interested in this cause as a result of the animal project for his O’Dowd biology class.
An Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Malcolm will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Castro Valley on March 23.
