Seven O’Dowd students from varying grades, along with a student moderator, sat down and had a serious conversation with fellow students about rape culture and the language surrounding rape in a Dragon Talks event held in the theater on May 2. The students discussed topics ranging from self-esteem, comments in school hallways, and debates on defining rape, all the while respecting the shared environment of vulnerability and intellectual discussion. The student panelists and the audience engaged in conversational debates describing the heavy topic of rape culture in a civil, and poetic way.
