Tess was born and raised in the Bay Area. After earning her BS in Environmental Science: Public Health from Loyola University Chicago, Tess returned to the Bay Area, where she developed a passion for California native plants and sustainable land management.

Outside of work, Tess enjoys biking around Oakland, botanizing, and cheering on the Golden State Valkyries.
