Laura is an Oakland native and O’Dowd alumna from the Class of 2011. She earned her BA in English from Gonzaga University and her MA in Teaching from the University of San Francisco, and holds teaching credentials in both English and Social Studies.

Laura’s teaching approach focuses on connecting subject matter to students’ lives, challenging them to think critically, and inspiring curiosity about the everyday world. She especially values O’Dowd’s vibrant community and the way students and adults alike build relationships with one another and the wider world.

Outside of school, Laura enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
