Started at O'Dowd:
BA Liberal Arts in English Literature, San Diego State University
Why I Teach:
As an educator and coach, I enjoy working with young people to help them develop into quality individuals and ultimately realize their potential as students.
Most powerful teaching technique:
Providing students a platform to make connections between their own experiences and the literature we read, whether through written expression or verbal interaction with classmates.
Why are the subjects you teach important?:
English Literature is essentially a collection of stories-stories that provide all people an avenue to share their own experiences with others. These shared experiences from literature help demonstrate how connected people really are.
"I am an invisible man...I am a man of substance, of flesh and bone, fiber and liquids, and I might even be said to possess a mind" - from Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
Recommended visual media:
The Alchemist, by Paolo Coelho
Hobbies or outside interests:
I'm a foodie who loves to try new food and restaurants from all cultures. I love playing golf.
