Josh brings a strong appreciation for community and connection to his role with our Development Department. Originally from Martinez, he graduated from De La Salle High School and has spent most of his life in the Bay Area, with time at Boston College and serving in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica. He now lives in Oakland with his wife, their son, and their cat.

Josh values O’Dowd as a place defined by the passion of its faculty and staff and the drive and creativity of its students, both in and beyond the classroom.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time outdoors—fishing, camping, surfing (badly, he says), playing basketball, and exploring his neighborhood. When indoors, he can often be found diving into Wikipedia articles, especially on geography and history.
