Devra was born and raised in the suburbs of Kansas City and has lived in Oakland for the past 40 years. At O’Dowd, she serves in both the Living Lab and Service Learning programs, bringing together her lifelong love of growing things and her deep commitment to volunteer work.

Devra continues to combine these passions outside of school as well, volunteering weekly as an Alameda County Master Gardener, where she helps grow plants for OUSD school gardens.
