Why I Teach:
My journey in East Oakland from student to educator has shaped my general philosophy towards education. I have come to believe that education is most powerful when it dismantles barriers, validates culture, and equips young people with the tools they need to re-shape their world.
Most powerful teaching technique:
I teach with creativity, empathy, and commitment to equity–designing engaging Math experiences that not only build conceptual understanding but also nurture student identity, confidence and resilience.
Why are the subjects you teach important?:
Math is not just about delivering correct answers. It's about building coherence, sparking curiosity, and designing experiences where math feels alive. Mathematics rooted in conceptual mastery, reasoning, and application empowers students to see themselves as capable mathematicians and thinkers.
