Renee teaches English with a deep love for literature, ideas, and the life of the mind. She earned her BA in English from Gordon College and spent her junior year at Cambridge University studying English Literature, Drama, and Landscape History. She later completed her MA in Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary, with additional graduate study in English Literature at Baylor University.

She sees academic life as a form of meaningful intellectual play and believes the study of literature lies at the heart of how we understand ourselves and our shared human experience. In her classroom, she values recognizing and encouraging excellence in her students as they engage deeply with great texts. Outside of school, she enjoys walking with her dog Marilyn, as well as undertaking extra-long solo walks that can span hundreds of miles. She also enjoys afternoons in art galleries, evenings at the theatre, and traveling—especially to the Hebridean islands.
