Connection is at the heart of Mondo’s work with students. Originally from Sacramento, he earned his BA in English Literature with a minor in Religious Studies from the University of California, Davis. He later completed his MA with a PPS Credential in School Counseling at Saint Mary’s College of California, where his thesis focused on fostering inclusion for minority students in Catholic high schools—an early contribution to DEIB work in the field. He is also a graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s Latino Educator and Administrator Development (LEAD) Program.

As Director of Equity and Belonging, he emphasizes active listening and unconditional positive regard, helping students articulate complex ideas and grow in confidence. Outside of school, he enjoys running and staying engaged with the running community—and can always offer expert insight into 1980s cinema.
