Women’s Track & Field Team Places 2nd at NCS


Athletes Advance to State Meet

The women’s track & field team placed second at the NCS Meet of Champions, held at Edwards Stadium in Berkeley last weekend, with several athletes qualifying for this weekend’s 99th annual CIF State Track & Field Championships, being held at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High School in Clovis.

Tierra Robinson-Jones ’18 defended her 200-meter dash title, with a time of 24.27 seconds, and placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.35. She also anchored the first place 4 x 100 (Jordan Jones ’19, Marnae Glover ’19, Jasmine Powell ’19, Robinson-Jones) and the 4×400 relays (Glover, Powell, Lauryn Moore ’17 and Robinson-Jones). The relay teams clocked in at 47.06 and 3:49.56 respectively.

Hana Johnson placed first in the triple jump (38 feet, 5 1/2 inches) and Powell took 3rd in the 400-meter run (56.88).
