Women’s Lacrosse Making History

Our women’s lacrosse team is making history and the season is not over. The Dragons have etched their names in our history books by capturing our first women’s lacrosse league title (West Alameda County Conference) and advancing through the North Coast Section (NCS) playoffs farther than any previous O’Dowd women’s lacrosse team. On Thursday, May 18th our team will attempt to become the first O’Dowd women’s lacrosse team to capture an NCS title. We are scheduled to face-off against No. 1-seed Campolindo in the NCS Division II Championship at 7pm at Campolindo High School. To recap our team’s success, on May 5th our women captured the West Alameda County Conference league title with an exciting 10-9 victory over rival Piedmont in the league championship game at O’Dowd. On May 7th, we were selected the No. 7- seed for the NCS playoffs tournament. Thus far, in the NCS playoffs, we have won three consecutive games highlighted by victories over No. 10-seed Alhambra by a score of 19-5, No. 2-seed Justin Siena in a physical game by a score of 12-9, and No. 3-seed San Marin in a 14-7 rout. The team currently on a seven game winning streak and posts an overall record of 13-7.

Please come out to cheer on our team in the NCS Championship game on Thursday, May 18th at Campolindo High School at 7pm.

Go Dragons!
