Spring Sports wrap up and advance to NCS post season competition

Baseball- The Dragons finished WACC league competition in 2nd place. Advancing to the NCS playoffs the Dragons faced off against San Marin Tuesday night, May 14th at O’Dowd. Game results and NCS bracket information can be found HERE

Track and Field– Both the O’Dowd Men and Women won the WACC league championship as a team. O’Dowd took first place in the men’s 3200m (Tommy Murphy), Men’s 4x400m, Women’s 4x400m, Women’s 100m and 200m. With athletes moving on to compete at the Bayshore Area meet. Up next is the NCS trials and finals at Diablo Valley College- Friday May 17th and Saturday May 18th.

Softball– The O’Dowd women won the WACC league championship and won the league tournament. Advancing to the NCS playoffs as the 8th seed. The Dragons are scheduled to play Wednesday, May 15th- weather permitting. Playoff bracket information can be found HERE

Swimming– In WACC league competition the O’Dowd men finished 5th with the girls finishing 6th. The Dragons had several qualifiers advance to the NCS championship competition. Malcolm Mackey (boys 100 free, 50m free), boys 400 free relay (Sam Arnold, Harrison Frith, Vincent Wenzler, Malcom Mackey). Zoe Kuhn competed in the girls 500 free.

Rugby– The O’Dowd rugby teams finished another successful season with the men finishing 4-1 in the NorCal division 2 competition- 2nd place. Girls competed in NorCal Div 1, finishing in 1st place with a record of 5-2-1.

Men’s Tennis– The Dragons finished 4th in WACC league competition with an 8-4 record. They advanced to the NCS playoffs where in In D2 team tennis they advanced to the quarterfinals. In the Division 2 doubles competition Brandon Khuu and Coleman Forth were the D2 champions.

Men’s Golf– The O’Dowd men finished 2nd in WACC league competition- to Castro Valley. They advanced to the Division 1 golf championship on Monday, May 13th at Monarch Bay Golf Course where they competed against the top 22 other teams in the Division.

Mens’ Lacrosse- Finishing 2nd in WACC league, the O’Dowd men’s lacrosse team had a commanding win over Northgate High School in the first round of the NCS playoffs to advance to the second round vs. Justin Siena- in a hard fought match the Dragons fell short, losing 9-6.

Women’s Lacrosse– Finishing 2nd in WACC league, the O’Dowd women’s team advanced to the NCS playoffs playing San Francisco University High School at home. In a tough matchup the Dragons lost 16-4.
