The Justice in Action class studied issues related to manufacturing, including the plight of people who work in sweatshops. As an antidote to sweatshops, the students explored the phenomenon of Fair Trade. As a way to put their learning into action, they decided to host a Fair Trade sale on campus in anticipation of Mother’s Day. They ordered products from Serrv, a company that works with Catholic Relief Services to showcase the handiwork of artisans from around the world.
