Dear O’Dowd Students and Families,
Yesterday we received confirmation that six Bay Area counties’ schools will remain closed through the end of this year, including Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Francisco. This news comes on the heels of recommendations from Governor Gavin Newsom and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. O’Dowd will continue remote learning for the remainder of the school year, maintaining our campus closure. Though we would much prefer to be with our community in person when we continue school after break, our community’s safety must remain our top priority.
As we plan to continue remote learning for the remainder of the year, our committed teachers are gathering on Zoom over the break in professional learning circles, working together to enhance the digital tools and methods we use to ensure personalized, engaging learning for students.
We will continue to keep in close communication with you as we work through this time together and will be sharing information regarding AP exams, final exams, senior celebrations, and Summer Academy soon.
Be well, O’Dowd families,
J.D. Childs President
