Why I Teach:

When I am able to be in the teaching role, I love the power of connection with my students and helping to see them grow and better themselves through the content area I am teaching.

Most powerful teaching technique:

Active Listening and applying unconditional positive regard in my questioning to students

Why are the subjects you teach important?:

Again, when I am able to, literature helps students learn how to express complex thoughts to others and communicate effectively. In this modern world, getting your point across clearly and concisely is very important.

Favorite quotes:

"The time is always right, to do what is right". MLK

Favorite trivia:

My parents owned a small video store in the 80s so if anyone wants to know about 80 cinema, I'm an expert in all things 80s!

Recommended visual media:

I'm not of a TV watcher but I love a great drama or science fiction film. Any type will do!

Recommended reads:

Anything involving the world of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion but my all-time favorite work is Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya.

Hobbies or outside interests:

I love to run and love to follow my favorite runners and stay involved with the running community.
