Why I Teach:

I support teaching/coaching at Bishop O'Dowd because I'm passionate about developing our youth. Not just in skills, but in their character, confidence, and mindset. Whether in the classroom or in the gym, I see every moment as a chance to challenge, encourage and inspire growth. Coaching allows me to instill discipline, teamwork, and resilience with each player. I find so much hope and joy in what we do, when alumni return and share stories of their time with coaches and teams when they were a Dragon.

Most powerful teaching technique:

For me, in coaching, it is clarity and communication. Setting clear goals and expectations with immediate, specific and actionable feedback, both positive and constructive, allows players to hold themselves and their teammates accountable.

Why are the subjects you teach important?:

I feel coaching is important because it unlocks potential. It's not just about improving but developing habits that last beyond just the gym. Life lessons that you can carry throughout your entire life.

Favorite quotes:

"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." John Wooden
