Originally from Michigan, Julia earned her BA in History from Wesleyan University and her MA in Teaching from Simmons College. She teaches as a way to remain in meaningful conversation with young people as they discover who they are, while also sustaining her own vibrant intellectual and creative life. Grounded in inquiry-based learning, she believes the humanities equip students with the tools to better understand themselves and the world around them, guiding them toward a more loving, just, and inclusive future. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, photography, film, and design.
