Ana is passionate about helping students recognize their capacity to think deeply and critically. Born in Mexico and raised in Oakland, she earned her BS in Business Administration from Cal State East Bay and her MA in Mathematics Education from Stanford University. In the classroom, she uses collaborative and intellectually rigorous approaches that support diverse learners and encourage students to share ideas, take risks, and learn from mistakes. She believes math is far more than formulas—it is patterns, creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Outside of school, she enjoys painting with acrylics, playing basketball, swimming, and going on hikes.
