Whether your student is new to a sport or just wants to work on their skills, you'll find that our Summer Sports Camps will support your student athletes. We offer basketball, volleyball, football, and strength & conditioning. Our camps are focused on skill development. Take a look at the fun and motivating sport specific camps that our talented and experienced coaching staff have created.

These are open to students at any school, except as noted.

Boys Basketball (Incoming 6th-8th)

Middle School Session 1, June 15 - June 26 2020: 12:30 - 1:50 p.m. & 2:00 - 3:20 p.m.
Middle School Session 2, July 6 - July 17 2020: 12:30 - 1:50 p.m. & 2:00 - 3:20 p.m.

This class is for student-athletes who are either interested in learning more about the game of basketball or have recently been introduced to basketball and are looking to improve on their basic skill-set. This class features a strong and targeted emphasis on building a solid foundation of basketball fundamentals through a variety of learning activities. Over the course of the class, players will be introduced to new individual and team drills which encompass the five target areas of: footwork, dribbling, passing, ball handling, and shooting. The drills and activities in this class are progressively taught and reviewed over the duration of the class. Additionally, there will be focus on basketball health and conditioning, sportsmanship and teamwork, and having fun.

Student-athletes are encouraged to wear athletic clothes and shoes.

Coed Basketball (Incoming 6th-8th)

Middle School Session 1, June 15 - June 26 2020: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Join O'Dowd Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Malik McCord for a two-week camp. This camp will focus on individual basketball fundamentals as well as team concepts that have made Bishop O'Dowd High School a perennial league, North Coast Section, and State playoff champion. Sessions will include: ball-handling, passing, footwork fundamentals, and shooting fundamentals, transition drills, offensive and defensive team concepts, competitive play.

Student-athletes are encouraged to wear athletic clothes and shoes.

Football (Incoming 6th-8th)

Middle School Session 1, June 15 - June 26 2020: 2:00 - 3:20 p.m.

Join O'Dowd's freshman football coaches for football. This is a mixed level class that will focus on learning proper warm up drills and technique, as well as practice ladder and bag drills. There will also be an introduction to the tackling component, however, this class will be "touch only" and no actual tackling will take place. Student-athletes will apply their learned skills in seven on seven scrimmage play. This class will place an emphasis on the basics and learning the game of football while having fun. No experience is necessary. Participants are encouraged to wear football or baseball cleats and athletic clothes.

Strength and Conditioning (Incoming 6th-8th)

In this class, students will work on their cardiovascular fitness, core and overall body strength, agility, power, coordination, and joint stability. Classes will incorporate exercises as well as games that support the concepts learned that day.

This program is designed to provide middle school students (incoming sixth through eighth grade) with a solid foundation for developing strength, speed, and power. Student-athletes are required to wear athletic clothes and shoes.

Strength and Conditioning (Incoming 9th)

High School Prep Session, June 17 - July 10 2020: 11:20 a.m. - 12:40 p.m. & 1:15. - 2:35 p.m.

Your student will also identify and correct movement patterns limiting your performance, and learn methods to protect their body from overuse, and fatigue related injuries.

This program is designed to provide incoming 9th grade students with a solid foundation for developing strength, speed, and power. Enrollment is limited in order to maximize class instruction.

Student-athletes are encouraged to wear athletic clothes and shoes.

Strength and Conditioning (Incoming 10th-12th O'Dowd Students Only)

Have your O'Dowd student join O'Dowd's Head Strength Coach Jay Beito in developing their athletic potential! Coach Beito's method will guide your student in measurably improving:

- Dynamic Flexibility

- Mental Toughness

They will also identify and correct movement patterns limiting your performance, and learn methods to protect your body from overuse, and fatigue related injuries.

This program is designed for the high school student (Incoming 10th-12th) and/or advanced athlete (9th) with a solid foundation for maximizing their strength, speed, and power. Participants should be able to perform the following prior to enrolling:

-10 Consecutive Pushups, 5 Consecutive Pullups, 25 Consecutive Sit Ups
- Deadlift Body Weight, Back Squat .5x Body Weight, Overhead Press .25x Body Weight

Student-athletes are required to wear athletic clothes and shoes.

Cancellation Policy

Except as noted, if, prior to the start of class/camp, you choose not to attend for any reason you will be issued a refund of your fees less a $25 processing fee up until two weeks before program start. After that time, no refunds will be given.
