O’Dowd’s WCEA Accreditation Process Underway

Bishop O’Dowd High School’s accreditation process through the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA), which is designed to ensure a quality educational program, is underway.

Every six years, O’Dowd engages in a thoughtful and thorough self-study in order to define what is working well for the total school community (school strengths), and what it needs to do better to meet the needs of its students (critical growth areas). At the end of this 18-month process, a data-informed, five-year action plan is formulated which will drive the next cycle of innovative education at O’Dowd.

Currently, we are creating a robust data library, which includes information from students and parents via surveys. The parent survey will be sent out later this month, and your thoughtful and timely participation in the survey is essential to the success of our process. Our goal is to have every family’s voice be heard via the survey, so our future plans can be informed by your collective opinions, insights, and ideas.

Members of the O’Dowd community are eager to engage the WCEA E3 process with honesty, integrity, and inclusivity. This process of reflection will allow the school to celebrate its many and varied successes and strengths, but even more importantly, to discern and commit to mission-centered, data-informed, and innovative ways to improve the educational experience of our students.

Thank you in advance for your response to the survey which will be sent out later this month.
