Dear O’Dowd Students and Parents,
We are writing this afternoon to share that O’Dowd has made a change to our remote learning plans based on the new information provided by Bay Area county health authorities today. We are extending the campus closure and will continue remote learning through May 1, 2020.
Today, seven Bay Area county health officers and their public school superintendents made a unified decision to extend school closures through May 1, 2020 to slow the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). To ensure the continued health of our community and the broader community, we have made the difficult, necessary decision to continue remote learning through May 1, 2020. During this time, we ask our community to continue to adhere to the “Shelter in Place” order issued by our local health agencies and Governor Newsom. As always, our community’s health and well-being must be our top priority.
This changes O’Dowd’s previous timeline and plans in the following way:
Key Dates
March 25 – April 2 Remote learning continues
April 3 – April 19 Easter Break
Monday, April 20 – Friday May 1 Remote learning continues. For public health and safety, all athletics, co-curricular gatherings, and events are canceled or postponed through May 1, 2020.
We will continue to monitor the situation during Easter Break and share any necessary changes to this plan.
Thank you all for your continued patience as this situation evolves. Please remember to keep updated on O’Dowd’s news and actions regarding COVID-19 at https://www.bishopodowd.org/covid-19/.
Sincerely,
J.D. Childs President
