DIY Holiday Festival

You are cordially invited to the 5th Annual Living Lab DIY Sustainable Holiday Festival next Tuesday, December 11. We’ll start the festivities in the Annex at 2:10 during MP, and will continue after school for those of you who are busy till 3:00.

As in previous years, the festival models for students how to make the holidays more sustainable by making your own gifts and decorations using homegrown and/or recycled materials. This year’s projects will include the ever popular “make your own swags and wreaths” from fresh cut Living Lab greenery, the insanely messy “decorate your own cookie” station (cookies baked by student EcoLeaders), the adorable “make you own ornaments” from pine cones, acorns, and chicken feathers (Note: all chicken feathers were donated voluntarily!), and a creative paper project using old library books brought to you by O’Dowd’s own crafty librarians. EcoLeaders have come up with a new project this year–screen printing your own t-shirt with an exclusive holiday design. In accordance with the sustainable theme, please bring a t-shirt from home to get in on this new adventure; no t-shirts will be provided at the event.

We’ll complete the festive atmosphere with hot cider, live music by students, and holiday tunes by DJ Spotify (aka Jeremy). We hope you’ll join us!
