The Bishop O’Dowd Theater Department has announced the season for the 2018-2019 school year. The fall production will be Once Upon A Mattress, and the spring production will be The King And I.

Once Upon A Mattress is a musical retelling of the classic fairytale by Hans Christian Anderson, The Princess And The Pea. This much-beloved musical marked the Broadway debut of stage and TV personality Carol Burnett who originated the role of the Princess. The show was revived on Broadway starring Sarah Jessica Parker, and has had three celebrated TV productions.

Working is based on collected interviews by famed historian Studs Turkel. From steelworker to waitress, from trucker to migrant worker, multi-faceted stories from all walks of life unfold with the dreams and aspirations of the American workforce. Along the way, there are plenty of great tunes and musical numbers.

It is suggested students be at all 3 days of auditions. Callbacks will be held Friday, August 24. Students will be taught something to sing or they can prepare a song.
