We Were There: A Crisis Reflected

O’Dowd’s original show from Fall 2020 is now available! “We Were There: A Crisis Reflected” features student-produced monologues, scenes, songs, dance, and film that responds to both living through a global pandemic, and the heightened social, political, and cultural crisis to address institutionalized racism in our country.

“In theatre, we are humanitarians. We make change by telling stories. That’s our charism for social justice. We help people see the world differently, and we motivate them to action.”
-Trina Oliver, aka “MizzO”

O’Dowd’s popular Instrumental Music Department offers student musicians a number of ways to showcase their talents. From String Orchestra to Symphonic Band to Jazz Workshop, Jazz Combo, and Advanced Jazz Band, music aficionados have plenty of opportunities to play and develop what they love. Regardless of which ensemble they join, students will get the chance to join a tradition of musical excellence and to perform at various festivals and concerts throughout the year. Performances have included Reno Jazz Festival, CMEA Festivals, Music in The Parks, Santa Cruz Jazz Festival, Campana Festival, and Disneyland. Many of our students have gone on to become working professionals and educators in the field of music.
