Senior Retreat

Who are you becoming?  What is your calling?

Vocation – it’s not about what to study in college or what job do I want to have.  It’s about discovering my gifts and talents and what they tell me about my life purpose.

Step away with friends from your busy senior year to reflect on where you have been, where you are, and what’s ahead on your life journey. Past seniors returned feeling more peaceful and confident about their future – both the end of senior year, college, and beyond!

Freshmen Retreat

Freshman Retreat is an opportunity for freshmen to connect with their peers as they begin their time at O’Dowd and reflect on their relationships with God, self, and others.  The entire freshman class gathers for this one-day retreat on National Testing Day (when sophomores and juniors take exams).  The Senior Retreat Team gives talks and leads small group discussions and activities.  The retreat is held on the O’Dowd campus and runs from 8:30am to 3:00pm.

Wednesday, October 13, 2021. No sign-up is needed – all freshman students attend.

Retreat Leadership

Seniors are the primary leaders for all student retreats (except the Senior Retreat which is led by adults.)

Any senior may lead the Freshman Retreat in October if they attend the two required training nights.

The Sophomore Retreat is typically led by senior CMT members, though is open to other leadership participation.

Any senior who previously experienced the Kairos Retreat may apply to be a Kairos leader. Application process typically happens in May, after the last Kairos of the year. Seniors are needed for multiple leadership roles including Rector (main student leader), Assistant Rector, Small Group Leader, and Home Team who support and build the connection between the school and parent community, and retreatants.
