We field three levels of men’s soccer: varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen. The each team will have around 15-20 players.
Men’s soccer is a winter sport with the season beginning in early November with tryouts and ending in mid-February with end of the season championship games.
Tryouts, Games, and Practices
Official tryouts will be held in early November. All students interested trying out should listen for preseason meeting information.
After the all three teams are selected, practices and game will normally be held Mondays – Friday after school (3:30pm – 5:30pm). Game dates and times will be announced once all leagues have met. Please Note: Once selected as a team member, players are expected to take part in all practices and games.
The school will provide uniforms for all team members. However, all team members will need to purchase the following equipment in order to play on the field:
- Shin guards
- Athletic wear for practice
The following are optional equipment items that can be purchased:
- Water bottle
- Mouth guard
Bishop O’Dowd men’s soccer program fields competitive teams at all three levels. Although previous experience is not required, most students have participated in the off-season with club soccer teams.
