Master Plan
Renovation and Modernization: Classroom Building and Hurley Hall
A top campaign priority is to complete the renovation and modernization of O’Dowd’s academic facilities by August 2010, focusing on the heart of the school’s work: curriculum and instruction.
The outcome is to ensure a professional learning capability with the opportunities to make consistent and ongoing improvements in:
• the use of data to drive instruction and improve learning on a daily basis,
• the use of technology to improve student outcomes,
• assessment literacy to assist teachers in meeting the learning needs of each student,
• the refinement of precise instructional strategies in order to bridge the gap between successful and struggling students,
• the development of the quintessential environment for teaching and learning.

Building the Endowment for Student Financial Assistance
Bishop O’Dowd High School is committed to offering high-quality academic programs and rich student-life experiences at reasonable tuition rates, with generous and necessary financial assistance to deserving students. Increased endowment funds are needed to enable us to fulfill this special mission in service to our community and region, perpetuating our values for generations to come. The overarching goal of endowment income supporting student financial assistance is to enhance academic excellence and opportunities, especially for diverse and underrepresented populations.
Since tuition assistance is crucial to keeping O’Dowd’s doors open to all students, we have allocated $1,850,000 in aid, in 2009-10 to more that 302 students who would not otherwise be able to attend O'Dowd.
Continuing to build the endowment in this way will allow us to enhance our assistance to a greater number of students while relieving pressure on the school’s operating budget.
Supporting Operations and Programs

The Renaissance Campaign includes strategic concentration on strengthening and advancing school wide programs through increased operational support. While we build our endowment and improve our campus, we must also increase ongoing support to sustain and develop core programs.
Bishop O’Dowd High School resides in one of the most culturally diverse and active areas of the world. Moreover, this dynamic century mandates that students encounter a wide range of challenging and meaningful experiences. Our goal is to ensure maximum immersion in the intellectual, cultural, physical, and spiritual life of the region so our students and graduates are able to develop the capacity to be leaders for tomorrow and transform this era.
The fact that tuition does not pay the total cost of a comprehensive and well-rounded O’Dowd education emphasizes the need for generous operations support to realize O’Dowd’s full potential and promise and the achievement of its vision for each and every student.
