WCEA/WASC

Bishop O'Dowd High School is a member in good standing of the Western Catholic Education Association and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WCEA/WASC). During the 2007-2008 school year, Bishop O’Dowd completed the challenging task of creating a plan that focused on student learning, while providing a roadmap for its mission. The self-study process culminated in a Strategic Plan/Action Plan that serves as a guide for the next 10 years.

The key components of the study along with the Strategic Plan/Action Plan were assembled into a report and submitted to the WCEA/WASC Accrediting Commission. The WCEA/WASC accreditation renewal process included an on-campus visit by a seven member team in the fall of 2007. The team's three-day study of our school resulted in a report which was presented to the faculty and staff on November 7, 2007. The Accrediting Commission has reviewed our report along with the findings of the visiting team and has informed the school of its standing. Bishop O'Dowd High School is proud to announce that the action taken by the WCEA/WASC commission has granted our school a six-year term of accreditation through June 30, 2014. We wish to thank all those who dedicated their time, effort and talent to the development of the Strategic Plan/Action Plan. Our school has and continues to benefit from the continued support.
