The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) exists to promote and recognize high standards of scholarship, service and citizenship on the part of students in California schools. O’Dowd is an official CSF chapter. Life membership (Sealbearer) requires one of the four semesters of membership be earned with senior grades, so students are encouraged to apply early.
Membership is active for one semester and is based on scholarship and citizenship only. Membership is not automatic and can not be applied for retroactively. In order to become a member, student’s must submit an application each semester, using the point system specified in the CSF State By-Laws. Students must earn sufficient points using the pre-approved course lists. The majority of required membership points must come from the University of California approved courses. Bishop O’Dowd’s approved course list can be found with each semester’s application.
